Of the 85 violent extremist incidents that resulted in death since September 12, 2001, far right wing violent extremist groups were responsible for 62 (73 percent) while radical Islamist violent extremists were responsible for 23 (27 percent). Read more here.

BART takeover robbery: 40 to 60 teens swarm train, hold up riders.

BART police are beefing up patrols at Oakland stations after dozens of juveniles terrorized riders Saturday night when they invaded the Coliseum Station and commandeered at least one train car, forcing passengers to hand over bags and cell phones and leaving at least two with head injuries. Prosecutors: Enraged Auburn man tells Mexican neighbor to leave U.S., chases her with knife.

King County prosecutors say a 36-year-old Auburn man became enraged when he learned a neighbor was from Mexico, then threatened to blow her up and chased her around her front yard with a 3-inch folding knife. Read more here.

The 50 most violent cities in the world.

Latin America holds the ignominious distinction of having the most cities on Mexico's Citizens' Council for Public Security's annual ranking of the world's most violent cities for 2016.

Of the 50 cities on the list, 43 are in Latin America, including 19 in Brazil, eight in Mexico, and seven in Venezuela. Read more here.

German national used martial arts to fight off robbers at Delhi’s Kashmere Gate.

A rickshaw-puller and his associate who intended to rob a German national near Kashmere Gate in Delhi learnd their lesson the hard way as the 19-year-old tourist, Benjamin Scholt, turned out to be a martial arts expert. Scholt fought off the two robbers despite having sustained injuries and forced the robbers to flee leaving their rickshaw behind. Read more here.

Croydon attack: five people in court over assault on teenage asylum seeker.

 "We are looking at anywhere between 20 to 30 people involved in this attack. This is power by numbers. There’s been an incident outside a pub. They have obviously picked on three young men. This has turned into this violent brawl where somebody has been viciously beaten and is very lucky not to have lost his life."
